Stand-up Paddleboards

Paddleboard Locations

We have four stand-up paddleboards located in racks on the west side of the Jericho building near our Laser and kayaks.

The SUPs are listed in order of experience required, with #1 being the more stable and best for beginners and #4 being less stable, faster, and better for distances but needing most care.

  1. The black and white foam core Starboard SUP is located in rack G31 next to the blue and white Starboard SUP. This SUP is a solid stable board for beginners, children, or casual paddlers and is quite robust.
  2. The blue and white foam core Starboard SUP is also located in rack G31 and is one of our new boards. It is 12’ 5” x 33″, lightweight and quite stable but a little more fragile than the black and white foam core Starboard.
  3. The turquoise Starboard “Touring Elite” SUP is a 14′ x 30″ fibreglass board that is quick but stable. The 14’ boards are a bit faster than the 12’ 5” boards but a bit trickier to handle out of the water. It is located in rack F042 with the windsurfing board.
  4. The carbon Starboard is a 14’ x 28” performance touring board which has been successfully raced. It’s our thinnest, lightest, and fastest board so it needs to be handled with care. The Carbon starboard is grey and red and is locked in a plywood enclosure with a cable lock (combination code is in club room) in rack G35.

Special Instructions

The stand-up paddles are stored in the club room. Please do not leave SUPs or paddles unattended on the beach. Please be careful with SUP paddles. Most are adjustable, and the long fixed length paddle is a delicate carbon fibre paddle for experienced paddlers.

The boards are fairly delicate, so please be careful when carrying them or storing them as they can dent or chip easily. Please rinse boards and paddles with freshwater to remove saltwater and sand from all surfaces.

If you lay a SUP on the ground, please place it fin side up.
